Ocala's Premier Horse Shows

Ocala's premier horse shows are held at one of several beautiful equestrian horse show facilities throughout the Ocala area. Some of the best known horse shows in the United States are hosted in or near Ocala, Florida.

Ocala is located in Marion County, Florida, a land of rolling hills and shady oak trees that make it excellent horse country. Marion County hosts hundreds of horse farms devoted to breeding thoroughbred race horses and several breeds of sport horses.

HITS Ocala Winter Circuit

HITS Post Time Farm in Ocala is home to the HITS Ocala Winter Horse Circuit that features huge prize money for top level show jumpers. HITS holds FEI rated show jumping contests during the winter months December thru March.

World Equestrian Center Ocala

The fantastic World Equestrian Center features four climate controlled show arenas and a beautiful new five star hotel overlooking the main show arena. Also featured are seven on site restaurants and several equestrian shops. This equestrian facility is adjacent to Golden Ocala, a well established equestrian community with beautiful homes, a golf course, and shared stables, pastures, and riding trails.

Florida Horse Park

Another well known Ocala area equestrian facility is Florida Horse Park, home of multiple English and western horse events throughout the uear. This fine facility is operated by the State of Florida and is sometimes referred by some as Ocala Horse Park.

Specializing in eventing and cross country events are Majestic Oaks in Reddick, FL, Barnstaple South in Morriston, FL, and Rocking Horse Stables in nearby Altoona, FL.

Driving in the equestrian world refers to horse drawn vehicle events where drivers compete in different categories around obstacle courses. Horse driving events are held at Florida Horse Park,

Ocala Rodeos

Ocala is also home to the Shrine Rodeo, the Southeastern Pro Rodeo, and the Southern Cowboy Classic Rodeo and Stock Show, all held annually at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion near downtown Ocala.

There are many other Ocala area venues for barrel racing and rodeos where heart pounding action and cash prizes rule the days and nights.
